My Story

      Welcome, my name is Stefan Mihailov and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor with a focus on Person - Centred and Psychodynamic modalities.

I have a firm belief in the positive nature of people and I believe in creating a warm and compassionate space where you can freely explore your thoughts and feelings.

​

My goal is to help you discover insights, overcome challenges, and foster personal growth. I am dedicated to maintaining high ethical standards, ensuring honesty, genuineness, and openness in our therapeutic relationship.

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I uphold their values of trustworthiness, autonomy, and respect and adhere to their ethical Framework.

I am here to walk alongside you every step of the way, supporting your growth and well-being, and I invite you to read more about my approach.

Having landed on my website, you're likely curious about finding help to make sense of and cope with your emotional distress or personal difficulties.

You may be facing challenges in your relationships, personal growth, or feeling stuck in your current circumstances. I understand how overwhelming it may feel to have someone that truly listens to you. It might seem impossible to share and explain how you feel. But rest assured, I provide a safe and confidential space where you can be heard and supported at your own pace.

 

Whether it's your general experiences, thoughts, feelings, or specific issues you want to address, our initial conversation will be an opportunity for both of us to determine if we can work together. I am here to support you on your journey of self-exploration and personal growth.

How does
your therapy
look like?

After you reach out to me we can have a free 15 minutes call during which you can ask questions, express any concerns and tell me your reasons for seeking counselling. I will be happy to know of any accessibility needs and I will do my best to accommodate.

 

Should we both feel we can work together and you’d like to continue, we will find a weekly time slot for your 50 minutes session, which will become your regular appointment.

 

During your first full session we will discuss a therapeutic agreement that includes terms for confidentiality, payment and attendance. This marks be the beginning of our work. 

 

There is no obligation to continue at any point during your therapy. We usually schedule weekly sessions, and you decide the duration of your therapy journey. We'll talk about what you hope to achieve, and you can decide when it feels right to wrap things up.

 

I provide both online and in person sessions and I will try to meet your needs depending on availability. We can speak in English or Romanian, depending on what you're more familiar with.
